- The Association of Cost Management Consultants (ACMC) is a collective of independent business cost reduction specialists who share knowledge, expertise, and information.
- Membership is open to those engaged in the supporting of Clients purchasing in the utilities and related markets.
- The Association aims to be self-funding.
- The Association will aim to run regular Conferences at which speakers from relevant industries pay a fee to present their opportunities.
- Regional Meetings can be held as required.
- Conferences are organised and chaired by a Member on a rotational or volunteer basis.
- There is no formal overseeing committee.
- Decisions are taken at the formal Conferences by reaching consensus or a majority vote. Urgent or important decisions, for example affecting the Constitution, Code of Conduct, Membership, or expenditure above £50, shall be taken by Members voting via. email, fax, or post, in a 21-day ballot.
- Each business that joins the ACMC as a Member will only have one vote.
- The only permanent Office Holder is Treasurer who is appointed on a volunteer basis. This position is unpaid except for expenses.
- Members are expected to comply with the ACMC Code of Conduct in their business dealings.
- In the event of a complaint to the ACMC a Disciplinary Council may be convened. The Council shall comprise:
- A Chairperson, who shall be the Member responsible for organising the formal Conference preceding the receipt of the Complaint.
- The Member responsible for organising the formal Conference prior to the above.
- The Treasurer.
- If one of the members of the Disciplinary Council is unavailable, or if the complaint is against one of the current members of the Disciplinary Council, then the position shall be filled by a Member proposed by the remaining two.
- Members will not disclose information about fellow Members without consent.
- Potential members must be sponsored by a Member who will establish their business credentials and propose them for membership. There will be a 21-day period from nomination to acceptance during which a Member may lodge an objection.
- Upon successful application for membership the Proposer of the new Member will be responsible for collecting the Membership Fee and forwarding it to the Treasurer.
